Hi, I am Ms. Wachter. I come to you from the east coast state of Maryland, it less than ¼ the size of Colorado with more people! This is my 2nd year in Colorado and I am thrilled to have joined such an awesome school, here at East Elementary. Since I grew up in Maryland, all of my schooling was done there. I went to a Teacher and Art College called Towson University in Baltimore Maryland, where I earned my Art Education Degree, which allows me to teach what I love and know best. I have always loved art and would spend countless hours trying to teach myself how to draw and create many ideas on paper. My parents spent a great deal of time and money on books for me to learn on my own, otherwise the only art I received was in school. It wasn’t until middle school that my art teacher began hanging up and displaying my art work and I finally discovered that I had a talent. During high school I found that I had a great love of not only drawing but painting as well. In college I found another great love, making books! I created a book documenting what I was learning about art, called a journal. My journal ended up being put into an art show for the entire town to see as well as other students to learn from. So today, in my spare time, I am working on writing and illustrating my very own book, making or painting pictures for my home, family and friends and any other art I get my hands on. I love art, making art and sharing art! I look forward to an art filled year!
