Background
As a high school and college student, I worked very hard to learn German and it is my belief that studying in Germany helped me know what it is like to be an ESL student.
Why I enjoy teaching ESL
My favorite part about being a teacher for English Language Learners is the opportunity to get to know students and families from all over the world. I celebrate our diversity and notice that, while we are all very different, we are really exactly the same. We are lucky to have motivated students who come to ready to learn. This is what makes teaching ESL at East Elementary so wonderful!
Philosophy
It is my belief that learning a second or third language should be fun and interactive. All students are capable of learning to understand, speak, read and write in English when they have the best instruction and activities available to them. Our students will have the best opportunbities possible in life through their knowledge of English.
